Recipe for Beetroot Halwa

Recipe type: Dessert/Sweet

Cuisine:  Indian

Yields: serves 5  person

Ingredients:

  • 3 Cups of grated beetroot
  • 3 cups of whole milk
  • 6 tsp of sugar-adjust as required
  • 5 tsp of ghee
  • 1/3 tsp of cardamom powder
  • 10 cashews(optional)
  • few golden raisins
Method:
Step 1:
wash, peel the skin, and grate the beetroot.

Step2:
Heat a tsp of ghee, fry cashew nuts and keep it aside.

Step3:
In the same pan, heat a tbsp of ghee, add grated beetroot and fry on low heat until the raw smell goes.



Step 4:
Then add milk and cook the beetroot on low flame, stirring in between. Cook till the beetroot becomes soft and all the liquid evaporates.



Step5: 
Add sugar and cook till sugar dissolves and gets mixed well with the beetroot. Add cardamom powder, remaining ghee and cook stirring for a few more seconds on low heat.



Garnish it with nuts.
